Ellie McCuskey, who recently completed her freshman year at St. Ignatius in California and is representing Marin Waves Track and Field, placed second in the girls 15-16 division in the heptathlon with 4,356 points at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. McCuskey-Hay had a 17-10.75 (5.45m) long jump and 97-foot javelin throw (29.57m) to place first in both events, before clocking 2:30.24 in the 800 meters to improve on her personal-best performance in the event by more than 200 points.
